Jesus Healed The Official's Son

Jesus Healed The Official's Son

Jesus Healed The Official's Son is one of the recorded miracles in which Jesus saved children from sickness.  Jesus loved children and would bless them whenever parents brought them to Him.

Children must pray to the Lord and ask Him to heal them when they are sick because He wants them to be well.

Jesus had been in Samaria but He departed from there and went to Galilee.  When He came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed Him
because they had seen all the things Jesus had done in Jerusalem at the feast.

When Jesus came to Galilee, He went to a place called Cana.  The Lord must have traveled quite a long distance!

Cana was the place where the Lord had turned the water into wine.

When Jesus got to Cana, a certain royal official from Capernaum came looking for Him. The man was desperate because his son was sick and dying.

When he heard that Jesus had come back from Judea to Galilee, the royal official went to see Him. He begged Jesus to come down to Capernaum and heal his son.

So Jesus said to him, ‘Unless you people see signs and wonders you
will never believe!’

‘Sir,’ the official said to him, ‘come down before my child dies.’  Jesus told him, ‘Go home. Your son will live.’

How do you think Jesus felt on hearing that a child lay dying from a sickness?

The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and set off for
home. While he was on his way to Capernaum, his servants met him and told him that his son was going to live.

So the official asked the servants the time that his son's condition began to improve. The servants replied that the fever left his son at noon, which was the seventh hour of the day in bible times.

The father was amazed!  Noon was the very time that Jesus had said to him, ‘Your son will live.’  The official and all of his household believed in Jesus and worshiped Him as the Son of God.

Jesus did this as His second miraculous sign when He returned from
Judea to Galilee.

Jesus Healed The Official's Son scriptures - JOHN 4

43 After the two days He went forth from there into Galilee.

44 For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.

45 So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things that He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they themselves also went to the feast.

46 Therefore He came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a royal official whose son was sick at Capernaum.

47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and was imploring Him to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.

48 So Jesus said to him, ``Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe."

49 The royal official said to Him, ``Sir, come down before my child dies."

50 Jesus said to him, ``Go; your son lives." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started off.

51 As he was now going down, his slaves met him, saying that his son was living.

52 So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. Then they said to him, ``Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him."

53 So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, ``Your son lives"; and he himself believed and his whole household.

The Boy Who Shared His Lunch With Jesus

The Boy Who Shared His Lunch With Jesus

The Boy Who Shared His Lunch With Jesus is a real story about a little boy who gave up his food to allow Christ to feed thousands of people. The disciples recorded this unselfish act, and the little boy went down in history, forever more remembered where the gospel is preached.

The lesson is that little children can participate in the Kingdom of God by giving and that God treasures their contributions, regardless of the type.

It was a nice sunny day and Jesus was teaching in a mountain. There was a boy who wanted to see Jesus. Maybe he went alone or with his family, but he was one of a huge crowd of over five thousand people.

His mother packed   his lunch bag with two little fish and 5 bread rolls.  He soon forgot about them though.

Jesus told stories about God  and did many amazing miracles.  The boy listened and paid rapt attention.

He loved Jesus. The Lord Jesus told the people to ‘love one another.’ The boy forgot to eat his  lunch.

It was time to go home, but everyone was hungry and they had no
food.  Jesus had had a discussion with His disciples about feeding the crowd.

Finally, Andrew told the Lord that there was a little boy with  food. It was really a small amount, just five loaves and two fishes.

How could that feed the huge crowd of people?

Jesus said to His helpers, ‘Tell everyone to sit down on the grass.’

The boy gave his lunch to Jesus to share. He only had 2 little fish and 5 bread  rolls.

It was not enough for  everyone. What would Jesus do? Jesus gave thanks then broke the food into pieces.

The Lord told His disciples to share the food to everyone. His helpers gave it to everyone to eat.

‘Thank you Jesus,’ they  said. When they had all eaten there were 12
baskets left over!

The boy ran home to tell his mother about giving his lunch to Jesus. 'And there were heaps left over! That’s a miracle!   Look!’

The boy who shared his lunch with Jesus bible verses  - JOHN 6

1 After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (or Tiberias).

2 A large crowd followed Him, because they saw the signs which He was performing on those who were sick.

3 Then Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat down with His disciples.

4 Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near.

5 Therefore Jesus, lifting up His eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming to Him, said to Philip, ``Where are we to buy bread, so that these may eat?"

6 This He was saying to test him, for He Himself knew what He was intending to do.

7 Philip answered Him, ``Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, for everyone to receive a little."

8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him,

9 ``There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these for so many people?"

10 Jesus said, ``Have the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

11 Jesus then took the loaves, and having given thanks, He distributed to those who were seated; likewise also of the fish as much as they wanted.

12 When they were filled, He said to His disciples, ``Gather up the leftover fragments so that nothing will be lost."

13 So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with
fragments from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.

When Jesus Was Twelve Years Old

When Jesus Was Twelve Years Old

When Jesus Was Twelve Years Old is a story about the Lord's adolescence. The most important revelation about this story is that Jesus knew His identity as Son of God.

Who told Jesus that He was the Son of God?
God told Him.
This means that God spoke to Jesus, even in the womb. This is the example that every father must follow.

Identity or self-awareness as a human is very important. Every human needs to confess and know these FOUR points.

1. I was created by God.
2. I am created in the image and likeness of God.
3. I was sent to earth by God.
4. God is my Father.

Read Psalm 139 to learn more.  Now let's get to the story.

Jesus is God's Son

Jesus is God’s Son but He lived with His mother Mary her husband, Joseph. Jesus was both human and also God. They all lived in the village of Nazareth.

Joseph was a carpenter and Jesus helped him as He grew up.

Jesus would play games with His friends just like all the other boys.

Jesus however was different from other children in that He was always obedient to God, Mary and Joseph. He did not do wrong things.

Jesus grew up in  a family with His step-brothers and step-sisters.
He also went to school where He studied hard.

Time to go to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Passover

One day Jesus was very happy. It was time to go to Jerusalem with others from Nazareth to worship God in the Temple. It was something they did several times a year.

It took a few days for the large group of people from Nazareth and the surrounding area to walk to the big city.

As they climbed up the big hill to Jerusalem they sang psalms and praised God.

Finally, they went into the Temple where people were teaching
about God and worshipping Him. Jesus was pleased. After all,
His real Father was God.

Jesus was now 12 years old. That was the age at which most boys began to learn how to do the job their father did.

Many people came into the Temple to pray to God.

Some people came into the temple to say sorry to God for the wrong
things they had done and ask Him to forgive them.

Teachers taught people how to obey God and live by His laws. People could ask questions and find out how God wanted them to live.

Some however were very proud and came to the Temple to show off
how good and generous they thought they were. Some people were impressed by them but they did not please God.

There were musicians in the Temple who led people in singing praise
to God.

It was a  wonderful time as people ate meals with their friends and family and put their lives right with God.

After a few days it was time to return. The large group of people from Nazareth started to make their way out of Jerusalem. Mary and
Joseph thought Jesus was with the other children making the
journey home or with their relatives.

Mary and Joseph discovered that Jesus was missing

But later, after traveling all day, they stopped. They called out for
Jesus. But there was no reply. Where was He? They asked people if
they had seen Jesus. But they all shook their heads.

‘Have you seen Jesus,’ shouted Mary and Joseph to those traveling at the front.

‘No, we haven´t seen Jesus all day,’ they answered. Mary and Joseph were very worried. Had Jesus been left alone in Jerusalem?  They must rush back at once to find Him.

The next day they arrived back in Jerusalem tired and exhausted. They went through the narrow streets but could not find Jesus anywhere. They searched all day but could not find Him.

The day after they kept looking. They asked people if they had seen
a 12 year-old boy on His own. But people shook their heads. They
searched all day but there was no sign of Jesus.

Jesus had now been missing for three days and Mary and Joseph were so worried. They decided to go to the Temple.

They did not know it, but Jesus had been in the Temple all that time. It was God’s house – His Father’s house.

Jesus had been in the Temple all that time

Jesus asked the Temple teachers difficult questions about God,
but they could not answer them. In response, He explained about God to them and answered their questions.

People were stunned that such a young boy knew so much about
God. A boy who was only 12 years old! From where has He received
all His wisdom?

Mary and Joseph find Jesus

Mary and Joseph began searching in the Temple. Suddenly they  gasped. There was Jesus! Talking with the Temple teachers.
They rushed to hug Him.

Where have you been? We have been so worried about you?
‘Don’t you know that now I am 12, I am the age when I must carry out my Father’s business?’ Jesus replied.

Mary and Joseph did not understood what Jesus had said. Maybe they had forgotten the circumstances of His birth.

Jesus wisely knew God’s command that we must all obey our parents, so He set off at once with Mary and Joseph on the
trip back to Nazareth.

Jesus grew up being obedient to Mary and Joseph and God. He
grew strong in every way, loving His Heavenly Father and His parents on earth.

When Jesus Was Twelve Years Old scriptures

41 Now His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover.

42 And when He became twelve, they went up there according to the custom of the Feast;

43 and as they were returning, after spending the full number of days, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. But His parents were unaware of it,

44 but supposed Him to be in the caravan, and went a day's journey; and they began looking for Him among their relatives and acquaintances.

45 When they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem looking for Him.

46 Then, after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.

47 And all who heard Him were amazed at His understanding and His answers.

48 When they saw Him, they were astonished; and His mother said to Him, ``Son, why have You treated us this way? Behold, Your father and I have been anxiously looking for You."

49 And He said to them, ``Why is it that you were looking for Me? Did you not know that I had to be in My Father's house? "

50 But they did not understand the statement which He had made to them.

51 And He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and He continued in subjection to them; and His mother treasured all these things in her heart.

52 And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
