What is eternal life?
Eternal life means living forever and never dying again. God gives eternal life to humans who believe that His Son Jesus
- died to save them from their sins
- and rose again from the dead so they could live with God.
John 3: 16 says:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
What does it mean to perish?
To perish means to suffer the judgment that God places on those who do not believe in His Son Jesus. In other words, to perish is to suffer eternal separation from God.
Persons who die in their sins will go to a fiery place of torment called hell. It was created for Satan and his angels really:
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God - John 3: 17 and 18.
The Lake of Fire
After that, at the end of the world, God will judge all the people who never received eternal life. He will send them to a place called the Lake of Fire. This fire in this lake never goes out, but burns for ever and ever:
and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Rev 20 14
Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
Rev 20:15
And if anyone's name was not found written in the BOOK OF LIFE, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Rev 21:8
"But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
How to be saved
To be saved, you must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. Pray this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I ask You to forgive my sins and save me from eternal separation from God.
By faith, I accept Your work and death on the cross as the only payment for my sins.
I promise that you will be my only God and that I will obey your Word.
Thank You for providing the way for me to know You and to have a relationship with my heavenly Father. Through faith in You, I have eternal life.
Thank You also for hearing my prayers and loving me unconditionally. Please give me the strength, wisdom, and determination to walk in the center of Your will, In Jesus’ name, amen
