Jesus' Parable of the Wedding Feast

Jesus' Parable of the Wedding Feast For Kids

Today, we're sharing  Jesus' Parable of the Wedding Feast. Imagine a king throwing the biggest, most awesome wedding party for his son. He sent out invitations to everyone he knew, saying, "Come on! It's going to be amazing!" But guess what? Nobody wanted to come.

One of the invited guests said, "Nah, I'm too busy. I have to work on my farm," while another said "I'm running a business, can't make it." Some people were even mean to the king's helpers! They grabbed them and treated them badly!

The king became VERY angry. He sent his soldiers to destroy the murderers and burn their city. Then, the king said, "Fine! I'm still having this party!" He told his helpers, "Go out to the streets! Invite EVERYONE you see!

The king's servants obeyed. They went out and invited everyone they could find! The party hall filled up with all sorts of people, ready to celebrate.

But then, the king walked around to see who was there. He saw a guest wearing his everyday clothes, not a fancy party outfit. "Hey!" the king said, "How did you get in here without a wedding outfit?" The man didn't know what to say. He just stood there not knowing what to say.

The king was angry. He told his helpers:

"‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. When they get there they will join other people who are weeping and grinding their teeth."

Wedding Celebrations In Bible Times

Weddings in bible times were very exciting and important celebrations. When a bride and groom got married, the celebration could last from one day to a week.

The groom's family would throw a giant feast, like the biggest birthday party ever, with a lot of yummy food and music. The richer the families, the bigger and fancier the party!

Parable Of The Wedding Feast Meaning

Jesus used  wedding feasts to foretell about His special marriage celebration. This marriage supper is  a super special party that Jesus will hold in Heaven. One very important event will take place before His marriage supper. This event is the first resurrection.

The first resurrection will take place when Jesus descends from Heaven to get all those who love Him. Those who are sleeping in the earth will rise up first.

After that, those who are alive and love Him will rise up in the air. We will all go to be with Him in Paradise and He will celebrate with us. He will also give out prizes to those who refused to serve satan.

Wedding garments in the bible days

In bible times, Kings would give out beautiful robes to all of the wedding guests. Guests did not wear what they wanted. So, guests who wore the king's gift showed respect to him and his son.

Parable of the Wedding Feast Clues

The King: is Jesus. He wants people from all over the world to go to Heaven with Him in the first resurrection.

The guests who refused to come: they are the Israelites to whom the law of Moses was given. They preferred to be busy with their own affairs rather than being interested in going to Heaven.

The servants:
They are the prophets and other people who Jesus sent to tell Israel about His marriage supper. Jesus would tell them to obey His Word, to live right and to worship God alone. However, they refused to listen.

The destruction of the city
The city of Jerusalem was destroyed in AD70. The Jews living there were taken into captivity by Roman General Titus and sent to other nations. This was because the people refused to accept Jesus' invitation to be saved from their sins and from their enemies.

The man without the wedding garment:
Guests could not wear what they felt like to a king's wedding. In the same way, wedding garments represent the righteous deeds of the children of God live.  Children of God obey the bible and do what God says. We do not hate, kill, envy, backbite, show spite, malice and other sins.

The place where everyone weeps and grinds their teeth

This place is hell. Anyone who is not righteous will be cast in

there. It is important to believe on the Lord Jesus and to live

righteously in order to be invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.

How to receive eternal life

Jesus invites you to be part of His everlasting wedding feast. He does not want you to go to hell. You can attend by acknowledging Him as God. Believe that He died to save you. Ask Him to forgive your sins, to wash them away and to write your name in the Book Of Life.

Then you must serve Him as your God and live righteously by doing what is pleasing in His sight.. Visit baby milestones ex why zee dot blogspot dot come for more parables of Jesus.

Parable of the wedding feast Matthew 22: 1 - 14

And again Jesus spoke to them in parables, saying,

“The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son,

and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.

Again he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.”’

But they paid no attention and went off, one to his farm, another to his business,

while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.

The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy.

Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.’

10 And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests.

11 “But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment.

12 And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless.

13 Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.”
