Archangel Gabriel Announces Christ's Birth To Mary Scriptures- Luke 1: 26-38
26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; [e]blessed are you among women!”
29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.
30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I [g]do not know a man?”
35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.
37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”
38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
Archangel Gabriel Announces Christ's Birth To Mary
Hello, my dear children! It is Luke, Jesus' follower. I have a wonderful story to tell you—a story about a very special baby and a promise from God.
Have you ever wondered what life was like long, long ago in Israel? The sun would shine hot and bright on the little houses made of mud and stone. People worked hard every day, like your mamas and papas do. The fathers would be out in the fields, maybe tending to the sheep or planting barley and wheat.
The mothers would be busy at home, grinding grain into flour to make bread and spinning wool into thread to make clothes. Everyone in the family, even the little ones, had a job to do.
Now, in a small town called Nazareth, tucked away in the hills of Galilee, there lived a beautiful young woman named Mary. She was a gentle and kind person, known for her loving heart and her strong faith. Mary was promised in marriage to a good man named Joseph. This was a very important custom back then. A promise like this was almost like being married already! Everyone in the village knew they were to be married, and soon they would have a big wedding celebration.
An Angel Visited Mary
One day, something amazing happened. It was a normal day, like any other. The morning sun was warming the dusty streets. The sounds of daily life were all around. But suddenly, a brilliant angel appeared before Mary! Can you imagine that? A shining angel, right in her own home!
The angel's name was Gabriel, and he said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you."
Mary was surprised and a little bit scared. What could this mean? She wondered about the angel's words.
But the angel smiled kindly and said, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. Listen! You will have a baby, and you will give him the name Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David, and he will rule over God's people forever. His kingdom will never, ever end."
Mary's eyes must have been wide with wonder. She thought, "How can this be? I am not yet married to Joseph."
The angel looked at her with so much love and explained, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. And listen, your cousin Elizabeth, who everyone said was too old to have a baby, is also going to have a son! For with God, nothing is impossible."
Mary took a deep breath. She thought about everything the angel had said. This was a lot to take in, wasn't it? But she knew in her heart that God's plan was always perfect.
She looked at the angel and said with a heart full of faith, "Behold, the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word."
And with that, the angel left her.
Mary believed the message the Angel had given to her
Do you see what Mary did? She believed! She trusted in God's great and mighty plan, even when it seemed impossible. Mary's "yes" to God changed the world forever. The promised baby, Jesus, would be born right here in our world, all because a young woman in a little town said "yes" to God's amazing promise.
Conclusion
So, my little friends, the story of Jesus's birth is more than just a story; it's a truth that shows us God's faithfulness and love. Just like He made a way for Mary to give birth to Jesus,
He is always at work in our lives, making a way for us to be a part of His great and wonderful plan. Always remember to trust in Him, just as Mary did.
