Jesus Sleeps As The Storm Rages

Jesus Sleeps As The Storm Rages is an event that took place when the Lord lived in the earth.  The story tell us that He has all power over the things that He created.  We can trust His Power because He can do ANYTHING.

When the story began, Jesus and His friends were on a boat trip! 

They sailed across a big, blue lake, just like you might sail in a little toy boat. Suddenly, WHOOSH! A grumpy storm cloud blew in, making the waves CRASH and the boat TIP and ROCK. 

The friends were scaredy-cats! They ran to Jesus, who was napping at the back, and shouted, "Help! We're gonna go under!"

Jesus calmly opened his eyes and smiled. "Don't worry, friends, " he said. "why are you afraid? Where is your faith?

Then, Jesus did something AMAZING! He spoke to the grumpy storm in a firm voice and said, "Quiet down, Mr. Grumpy! Be still!"

And guess what? The storm cloud listened! 

It stopped grumbling.

The waves calmed down, and the sun peeked back through.

Jesus' friends were SO surprised! They had never seen anything like it. "Wow!" they whispered, "Who is this amazing friend that even the storm obeys?"

With the sunshine back, Jesus and His friends continued their boat trip, laughing and singing all the way. They reached the other side of the lake safely and happily, ready for more adventures!

Jesus Sleeps As The Storm Rages scriptures - MATTHEW 8 23 - 27

23 When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him.

24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep.

25 And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, ``Save us, Lord; we are perishing!"

26 He said to them, ``Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.

27 The men were amazed, and said, ``What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"
