Peter Goes Fishing For Money

Peter Goes Fishing For Money

Peter goes fishing for money is another amazing miracle that Jesus performed. This real story tells us that Jesus knows exactly where to find things that we need. If we pray and ask for help, He will show us where to find them.

Once Jesus and his disciple friend Peter went to a town called Capernaum. There, some grumpy tax collectors asked Peter, "Does your super cool teacher, Jesus, pay the temple tax?" Peter worried because neither he did not have any money!

But guess what? Jesus, being God and also super duper smart, knew exactly what to do! He winked at Peter and said, "Imagine a king. Who pays taxes to him, his own kids, or everyone else?" Peter, thinking hard, said, "Everyone else!"

Jesus smiled and said, "Exactly! We're kind of like the king's kids, so we don't have to pay, BUT we don't want to be rude. Let's pay anyway! Go fishing, Peter, the first fish you catch will have a special surprise! It will have money in its mouth"

Now, Peter was a great fisherman, but a fish with money in its mouth? Never!

But  Peter trusted Jesus and cast his line. ZOOM! Up came a fish as fast as you can say "bubbles!

Peter peeked inside its mouth... and wouldn't you know it? ✨ There was a shiny coin, just the right amount for the tax! It was a miracle!

With the tax paid, Jesus and Peter skipped away, knowing that even when things seem impossible, God can surprise us with amazing solutions. Remember, He takes care of us in the most unexpected ways!

Peter goes fishing for money scriptures - MATTHEW 17: 24 - 27

24 When they came to Capernaum, those who collected the two-drachma tax came to Peter and said, ``Does your teacher not pay the two-drachma tax? "

25 He said, ``Yes." And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, ``What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth collect customs or poll-tax, from their sons or from strangers?"

26 When Peter said, ``From strangers," Jesus said to him, ``Then the sons are exempt.

27 ``However, so that we do not offend them, go to the sea and throw in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up; and when you open its mouth, you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for you and Me."
