The Boy Who Knew So Much!

The Boy Who Knew So Much!

Meta Description:

A funny, rhyming poem for kids about young Jesus, lost in the Temple, who surprised everyone with how smart He was!

The Boy Who Knew So Much!

(Verse 1)

Young Jesus, just twelve, with a twinkle in His eye,

Went to Jerusalem, way up so high!

With Mommy and Daddy, for Passover fun,

A really big, busy trip for everyone!

(Verse 2)

The feast was all over, a big happy cheer,

"Time to go home!" said His parents, "My dear!"

They packed up their bags, joined a big, noisy crew,

"Where's Jesus?" they wondered, "What shall we do?"

(Verse 3)

They looked in the wagons, they peeked in the tents,

"Is He with Aunt Mary, playing with pence?"

"Is He with Uncle John, telling funny jokes?"

But no, little Jesus was not with these folks!

(Verse 4)

Oh dear, oh dear! A whole day went by fast,

Mommy and Daddy were sad and aghast!

They turned right around, with a worried, deep sigh,

"Where is our sweet boy? Oh me, oh my!"

(Verse 5)

Three days they searched, with feet tired and sore,

Then found Him in the Temple, right by the door!

Not playing with toys, or hiding from view,

But talking with wise men, about things old and new!

The Boy Who Knew So Much!

(Verse 6)

The teachers had books, piled up to their chin,

But Jesus asked questions, with a smart, clever grin!

He knew all the answers, they opened their eyes,

"This boy is so clever! What a super surprise!"

(Verse 7)

Mommy said, "Son! We worried so much!

We looked everywhere, with a worried, quick touch!"

And Jesus smiled gently, and answered with glee,

"I'm doing my Heavenly Father's business, you see!"

(Verse 8)

They didn't quite get it, not all of the way,

But Mary kept thinking, throughout every day.

Then back home to Nazareth, happy and neat,

Jesus grew up, oh so special and sweet!

(Verse 9)

So if you get lost, or you stay out too late,

Remember young Jesus, and His very smart fate!

He listened and learned, He was good and so kind,

The most clever boy, you would ever find!
